In a world that is constantly evolving, nonwovens and paper are replacing traditional materials in many applications. These sustainable materials are not only environmentally friendly, but also offer a multitude of benefits in terms of versatility, weight and adaptability. From the packaging industry to innovative construction projects, nonwovens and paper are showing that they have the potential to revolutionise the materials landscape. At ITA, we take a holistic approach to developing new products and processes: from the development and use of novel raw materials (e.g. endemic natural fibres and biopolymers) to the optimisation of production processes (e.g. through digitalisation and process development) and the design of new products and applications. Nature shows us how: 100 % of all natural structural materials are fibre-based!
