University of Manchester Cleanroom FacilityThe University of Manchester Cleanrooms provide the ability to translate Regenerative Medicine research from basic studies & pre-clinical work to clinical trials, providing the capacity to generate clinical grade Investigational Medicinal Products (IMPs) & Advanced Therapy Medicinal Products (ATMPs). The GMP facility is licensed for the manufacture of Autologous & Allogeneic cell therapies, Gene Therapies or Novel Biomaterial based Medical Devices, for Clinical Trials or as Specials. The Facility has 2 Cleanrooms with support areas & a Quality Control laboratory. This was the first GMP facility in the North West to engage in GMP derivation of human embryonic stem cell lines, allowing researchers to develop stem cell products for human clinical trials & future therapeutic use. The facility also provides contract services including: manufacture of IMPs, ATMPs & Specials; sterility testing including validation; provision of Quality Management Systems; Environmental Monitoring Services.
