Overview:

We want to enable our customers to purchase shares in local and renewable energy generation technologies and storage facilities in order to supply themselves with energy from them. The special feature here is that the plant does not have to be located on the energy consumer's property, which means that customers in rented apartments or commercial units, as well as customers with unsuitable roofs and users of public charging stations, can also benefit from cheap and local electricity production from renewable sources. By developing a dedicated app for the creation, management and participation in energy communities, we enable easy and socially equitable participation in the energy transition and access to generation technologies such as wind and hydropower that cannot be economically implemented by individual private persons and small businesses. Such an app has already been developed as a concept in a bachelor thesis, whereupon it received much positive feedback. An advantage over generation as a single individual is also that an exchange of energy between customers becomes possible, so that the necessary investments decrease significantly. The principle described is generally known as energy sharing and is being pushed politically at the European level through corresponding directives for the member states, which means that regulatory tailwind can also be expected in Germany in the future. The offer is combined with a normal electricity tariff to compensate for phases of low electricity generation. Surplus volumes are sold automatically on the energy market. Share trading allows our customers to own only as much renewable generation and storage capacity as they need and provides maximum flexibility. In addition, our proprietary software helps customers decide which plant to invest in and to what extent. So Creoby can offer a number of benefits that come from allocating capabilities in a platform like ours. It

According to a study by the Institute for Ecological Economy Research, the need to expand renewable energy generation to achieve the 2030 targets requires investments of more than 60 billion euros in Germany alone. Creoby can make an important contribution to advancing the energy transition by investing in renewable energy generation in urban regions as well!



Our team introduces itself:

We are a broad-based team of 7 students from RWTH Aachen University and Westphalian University. Among them are industrial engineers and mechanical engineers with a specialization in energy technology as well as business informatics specialists and an economic geographer, who enable the implementation of the project with their different expertise.
